Upcycled Sculpture
Artist Statement:
1. Describe: My project is 3 flowers, and a stem growing from a "land fill". The flowers were made from green plastic bottles of 2 different shapes and sizes. The stem is made from wire, and the base is layered cardboard with bunched up newspaper on top.
2. Analyze: I used texture in the base with the news paper. I used form with the base's form and the form of the flowers. I used color in the green flowers.
3. Interpret: The meaning of this project is that if we keep polluting out planet with all of our trash, all of our plants will be killed off because they suffer under the pressure of the trash covering them. In the future we might only have fake, mass produced, flowers, because all the really naturally beautiful flowers will be scares or gone.
4. Judge/Evaluation: I like it because it is visually appealing. I also like it because it looks like what it is supposed to represent, (flowers). I also like that the green of the flowers is the only bright color. It looks good and it gets the point across that it is an upcycle project.

Artist statement:
Describe: This art work is a 3D, clear face. There is a heart inside the face splatter painted with pink, blue, and purple.
Analyze: I used form to make the face 3D and make it look like you can see through the face to the heart. I used color in the heart to make it colorful and pop out against everything else.
Interpret: this artwork represents me in 2 ways. The first way is I try to be a caring light hearted person, which is represented by the thin, seemingly light heart. The second way, is that the colors in the Bi pride flag (pink, purple, and blue) match the colors in the heart.
Judge: I like how it represents me. I also like the colors of the heart and the overall way the heart turned out.
