I chose to take these photos in my neighborhood. This tree is near the side walk. I chose these pictures because the angle made them stand out the most from the background. These angles also didn't show any cars or electrical wires. I'm trying to convey a feeling of close comfort. It was difficult to make the picture look nice while avoiding the distracting background. I ended up having to find the lowest branch and look straight up at it with my camera.
Hang On
Shiver
I took these photos in the entry to a park. These are dried flowers covered in snow. I chose the first image because I liked the amount of detail you could see. I chose the second because I like the trees in the background. I am trying to convey a feeling of strength. It was difficult to find the best angle to show the detail in the snow on top the flowers.
White Blanket
Fight It
I took these photos in a wooded area. These are dried fall leaves. I chose the first one because I liked that you could see the fine detail in the leaves. I chose the second image because I liked the warm colors. I’m trying to convey a the feeling of pushing through a tough situation. It was difficult to find an angle where the image didn’t look cluttered.
Don't Leaf
Heated
I took these photos by a tree in an open area. These show leaves and blades of grass sticking out of the snow. I chose the first image because it looked like the leaf was climbing out of the snow. I chose the second image because I liked that you could see more of the grass and the tree added a little bit more contrasting color. I am trying to convey a feeling of being a survivor. It was challenging to get my camera to focus on the leaves and grass for the second picture.
Rise Up
Don't Give In
I took these photos in front of my house. These are of the moss and branches on a tree. I chose the first image because I liked that you could see the snow. I chose the second image because I liked all the detail in the bark. I am trying to convey a feeling of success. It was difficult to to keep snow flakes off of my camera lense since I was looking up at the tree branches with it.
