Artist in Reflection
The overall message I am trying to covey is how I see the world through my camera. The first layer is a selfie of me as the photographer. The second layer is a piano, because I love singing and listening to music. The third layer is of my converse because I wear them a lot, but also because I try to take pictures of things that people don't usually see or care about, and give a new perspective. My final layer is of flowers to represent that I care and take pictures of nature. I put the converse at the bottom of the image because they are what carry me and allow me bend down or go about things to take pictures; They are my foundation. The piano takes up a large portion of the image because music is a big part of my life. There are three flowers because of nature as I said, but they also represent my three of my best friends. This image is the reflection of me as an artist.
Brand New
Compare and Contrast
My selfie ("Artist in Reflection"), had a lot more color than my double exposure ("Brand New"). My selfie wasn't cut out, my double exposure was. My selfie had 3 background images, my double exposure only had one. All of the background images were the focuses of my selfie, the picture of me is the focus in my double exposure. You can't see my eyes and face as much in my selfie as you can in my double exposure. In my double exposure, you can see details in my eyes and face pretty clearly.
I have improved my skills. My style has changed slightly. I plan my images more carefully. I make sure my images have the same definition when I'm doing a double exposure. I carefully edit and adjust my images until I am 100% satisfied with how they look. This has helped me find my style of photography.
