Meet the Artist:
2022
I had a bit of a break. I went to college and it ruined my drive and I had about a year of no ideas. I started to do some watercolor based on reference photos. I made three categories of watercolor works. I went to a social event one day where people had been asking me what I had been up to I didn't really want, or know how to answer them. I was driving home from this social event and all of a sudden I had a spark, an idea, after a year, after 12 months. It perfectly captured what I had been going through and my hope was it would help people around me understand what I had been going through and why I stopped going to college. I immediately started planning for this photoshoot and got everything ready to go for the day of the photoshoot about 2 weeks later. I edited and as I type this am about to post the photos. The story behind these photos can be found with the photos under Torn Wings. I am really proud of these photos. It is anxiety-inducing to post the photos after so long of nothing truly meaningful, but I am also excited to share them.
2021
I have been doing less drawing/painting and more photography. I am not abandoning other mediums but I am now focusing in on photography with a little SFX-makeup and theatre makeup on the side as I prepare to head into college where I will be going for a BFA (bachelor of fine arts) degree with a focus on photography.
2020
Covid-19 and quarantine has become the new normal now. since I have a lot more time on my hands now I've been trying out new types of photography and new ideas. I've been doing a lot more photo shoots. if you hover over the "Current Works \/" you will see the links to all of my most recent photo shoots. I'm excited to share all these new ideas and introduce new subjects for discussion. Big thank you to all my amazing friends who have been modeling for me!
2018
I saved up and was able to buy my Canon Rebel t16. I do photography for small events around me. I am taking as many art classes as I can and learning new skills. I have also been continuing my online education of SFX makeup. I am working on my charcoal skills as well. I post all my drawings, paintings, and SFX works on my @liliartsy instagram.
2017
My name is Lili. I've loved photography since I was 4 years old. My grandma took me to a butterfly garden. She brought a camera to take pictures of me, but I ended up with the camera and started taking pictures of all the flowers and butterflies. Then in 4th grade I got my mom's old phone. My parents had disabled calling so I was left what was a "good" android camera at the time. I got an iPhone next and took many pictures even though I didn't do anything with them. Next I got a better I phone that lasted me through the rest of middle school and first month of high school. I took way to many pictures on it. I wanted to share them, so on my 13th birthday (Saturday March 19th, 2016) I got a personal Instagram account and started spamming that account with my photography. Many months later I decided to get a public Instagram @liliartsy . I'm usually busy with school but pictures build up in my camera roll so when I find down time I edit and post them. Now (2017) I have an iPhone 8 and am trying to save up for a Canon Rebel t16. I don't just do photography though. I mainly do charcoal sketches and SFX makeup along with photography. I do many other kinds of art like acrylic painting but not as often.
